Antique Alley Day!!!

I love this quilt.  Oh how I love red and green quilts.  I found this quilt titled Antique Quilt Floral Applique Within Pieced Maze on the internet.  Sadly I do not own it - wish I did!

The Blue and The Gray - New Quilt Book

This book that I received last week has me drooling!  The Blue and the Gray: Quilt Patterns using Civil War Fabrics by Mary Etherington and Connie Tesene who are the owners of Country Threads Quilt Shop in Garner, Iowa.

This book is jam packed with great scrappy projects.  Each of them makes me want to dive right into my scrap bin and start - - - yet another project!  LOL

Anyhow - here are photos from the book that might just have you running to your local quilt shop to get your own copy!

Love Of Quilting Magazine

I received the newest issue of Fons and Porters - Love of Quilting Magazine last week! This is the May/June 2013 issue. There are a few really great quilts in this issue that I'll share pictures of with you but first - one of my friends Lynne Hagmeier is the featured "Quilt With The Stars" for this issue!  Great article!  Here's a picture of her quilt pattern in the magazine

This is Homespun Honey

You can visit Lynne on her website or blog!  Here are those links:

Here are pictures of some other quilts in this issue that are great!

Hands All Around Quilt Guild Show 2013

This past Sunday I had the privilege of going to one of my favorite guild quilt shows.  I enjoy this show so much because of not only the talent, but the amount of hand piecing, hand applique and hand quilting that this wonderful group does.

Here is a link where you can go and view all the quilts I took pictures of - these are located in my Google Account and I welcome you to join my "circle" there so that you can see the other wonderful photos in my album.

You can also view the quilts in my Flickr account if you prefer, here is that link:

Here's a couple of my favorites:

A Quilt My Daughter Made

My daughter decided last week to make a quilt for her teachers wife that is due to have a baby any day now.  She drew out her own pattern and selected fabrics from my stash!  (shown above)

And here is the finished quilt!  It's about 36" square and I think she did a wonderful job!

She wrapped it all up and was so proud of herself.  It is being delivered today! Ashley is 14 years old and has taking a basic sewing/quilting class about 2 years ago.  Her skills get better and better!

Isn't this a gorgeous antique pineapple quilt!  I found this on a blog by the Online Quilt Museum.

Or here is a link to the most recent post on the blog - they have not posted anything in quite awhile but to go back and read through some of the post is wonderful!  Lots of eye candy!
