Super Fun Give-A-Way!

Well here's something really cool I recently discovered!

It's the American Quilt Trail 2011 Calendar!  I received mine this past week and a couple I ordered for Christmas Gifts!  And Suzette was such a sweetie to include an extra calendar for us to use as a give away here on our blog!  Thanks Suzzette!

Here's a peek at a few of the barns with quilt blocks that are included in the calendar:

Love this one for this month with all that snow flying around!

This ones a beauty too! Look at all those gorgeous mountains in the background! (I'm such a mountain woman!)

Love this quilt block too!

So here's what you gotta do to be included in the drawing to win one of these calendars!  It's simple - just leave me a little comment here on our blog telling me the name of your favorite quilt block and and why it is you favorite - if there even is a specific reason or just because it's gorgeous!!!  How easy is that! The give away starts today and will run through midnight this coming Monday December 13th, 2010.  I'll draw the winner's name on Tuesday morning and announce the winner!  Good Luck!

Now, be sure to check out The American Quilt Trails wesite also here:

You can view all the pages of the calendar here:

If you would like to order these great calendars you can do that right on the first link I provided above or go here:

I think they will make excellent Christmas gifts - what quilter would not love this!  The photography is gorgeous! Suzette ships them out extremely fast so you have plenty of time to receive them for Christmas!

Good Luck and Happy Stitchin'!

The calendar is beautiful! My favorite quilt block is the Dresden Plate. It was one of the first blocks that I learned and I love the old fashioned look of it.

Great calender!
My favorite block (hard to pick) is the variable star (it has other names too) because there are so many options for it and I love making fast flying geese for it.
Thanks for the chance!♥

The quilts on barns movement is really spreading and I am happy to see that. I don't know that I have a favorite quilt block. I love stars (Ohio, Variable, 54-40 or Fight)but I can't say I have a favorite. Thanks for the chance to win this calendar.

There are several that are favorites, log cabin is always fun to play with, dresden plate because it reminds me of a quilt made by my great grandmother that was on my bed when I was a kid but my current most favorite is the Farmer's Daughter because I am a farmers daughter!

What a fun giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win. I've always liked the Ohio Star. It was my first introduction to piecing. Merry Christmas!

Hi, I have always loved the Dresden Plate and have a goal of sometime making one. My Grandma had a Dresden Plate quilt, which I now have, and I love it! It's quite old and shows it's age, and has a green corner where my Grandpa accidentally spilled paint on it. But I love it all the more because of that story. :) I also like the Ohio Star - because I'm from Ohio and it is just pretty no matter what direction it is. Merry Christmas!

Love the calendar! Old barns are so awesome.
I love a lot of quilt patterns, but I think Dresden plate is my favorite because it is the pattern that was on the quilt my Grandmother made us when we were married. It was the first quilt I was ever given, and it started in me a lifelong love for quilting.
Merry Christmas.

Thanks so much for sharing this with everyone! Of course, I'm not entering the contest, but just for fun--my favorite is Grandmother's Flower Garden. The first quilt I made--entirely by hand--was this pattern, and I incorporated some pieces from my grandmother's scrap bag. One of my life's great treasures.

Farmer's Dotter is now my favorite block after choosing the name of my business! Love the calendar...need to get a sign made for my barn, that may have to be a Christmas present to myself!

Those are beautiful photos of the barns with the quilt painting. I am not sure if I have a favorite block, I like the wonky, crazy quilt styles, lol.

My favorite quilt block is G12 Gloriae from the Dear Jane quilt. It is a beautiful star!

Hmmm, this is a bit like picking my favorite child. CAn I pick a category? Stars are my favorites. Variable, Ohio, Lemoyne. Easy to piece but still enough pieces to use lots of different fabrics in one block.

Super give-a-way. It is hard to pick a favorite but if I have to it would probably be the churn dash. I've seen a lot of gorgeous quilts with the churn dash but the Dresden Plate would be a close second. Just like them both.....thanks for the chance to win a calendar.

My favorite block is the 4 patch. It is versatile and other combinations can substitute for a square patch to make many variations. Thank you for this giveaway for the lovely calendar. Merry Christmas!

Our historical society has a "barn quilt" hanging above it's entrance here is the southern tier of Western NY state. The idea has spread around! Hard to pick a favorite quilt block because there are so many gorgeous renditions of all sorts of patterns, but I tend to favor Ohio Star.

Seotmeber is the one I like. The cute syle of the barn you never see anymore and the quilt on it is wonderful. Karin E :)

The log cabin is my favorite. I was doing a sampler qal this summer and made the block for the first time in fabric I loved. It stills looks beautiful to me. I also like the churn dash, but haven't even made one yet.

Love your blog. My favorite quilt pattern is the Ohio Star. I found it to be a great challenge to make sure the points do not get lost in the sewing and I love the look of it. Would love to win the Barn Quilt Calendar. Thanks for the contest. Teri

My favorite block is Patchwork Of the Crosses POTC - sewing it by hand with Inklingo...really easy. Many peaceful and rested hours sewing those. Loved this more than any other block - still going on it - Oh and I loved working out the fussing cutting :) All photos in the calandar are so very different to what we see here in OZ. Fasinating. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Can't believe you asked us to pick a favorite!! I love them all! I love flying geese, log cabin, rolling stone, and any sampler quilt! I love making samplers quilts because I can never choose just one!

Love this calendar .... if I don't win I'll be ordering myself one for sure. My favourite block is a Log Cabin Block - it can be done so many different ways, my favourite way was to do an "uneven" log cabin block - very effective when put together with other blocks.

Without a doubt my favorite quilt block is the Card Trick. Thanks for having this giveaway!

It's like choosing your favorite child! Well, not quite that dramatic, but I have many favorites and currently it seems to be nine-patch and all it's many variations.

My favorite quilt square is the Ohio Star. I have always loved the way it looks and even found kitchen flooring with it on!

What a gorgeous calendar! I seem to be drawn to star patterns, because they seem to represent "quilting" to me. When I think of a quilt, that's what pops into my head every time.

Thanks!

Deb said...

Oh my! Those barns are gorgeous!!! I've had a Barn Quilt (the smaller kind that would go on my gardening shed instead of a big barn) on my list forever!! They're expensive! But...a barn quilt calendar I would love to WIN!!! My favorite pattern would be traditional Log Cabin. Thanks for the chance.
