Well, Judie has gone and done it again.  She's created a fabric line that I love everything about. The more I look at these beauties the more I love 'em! I want a bolt of a few of these - isn't that awful!  I want to hoard some of these away for lots of future designs!

Are these not to die for!  I need more - I want lots and lots of yardage.  Guess I better get off here and get a little work done today so that I can afford to buy more of this before it's all gone!

History Repeated Fabric - gorgeous!

I love this collection of fabric called "History Repeated" by Julie Hendrickson.  The blues and browns are lovely and the shirting prints - oh my!

I ordered my fat quarter bundle from Homestead Hearth - just love that online quilt shop - but I see they are out of the bundles.  They do have yardage left though and I'm thinking I may just have to get yardage on some of these pieces for future projects!

Date Night With My Sewing Machine

OK, it's really bad when you have to set up a "date night" with your sewing machine!  I'm not kidding - I've been so busy trying to get things ready for upcoming shows, packing orders and family stuff that yesterday I decided it was "Date Night With The Sewing Machine".

This is what I did!  I've been tinkering with this idea in my head on how to do a pineapple block - but not have to do paper piecing.  I'm not a big fan of paper piecing - it's a stretch when I use triangle paper even, it just drives me bonkers to have to tear off all those little bits of paper off!

Anyhow, I think the block turned out pretty well.  I want to sit and play around with this idea a little more. I used all pre-cut strips of fabric from our January fabric pack of the "Simply Strips Club". 

Back to work for me, I'm itching to get playing around with some of the newest Jo Morton fabrics - Toasty and Luminarias - what fun! But first I have to get a few things ready for our book signing event at 

Roberts Sewing Center this coming Saturday!

More Spool Blocks!

I've been able to get quite a few more spool blocks pieced for our "Spoolin' Around Club"  These are just so fun to piece and I'm really enjoying using the template stamps, it saves so much time from the normal kind of quilting templates!

We were also able to get all the March Spoolin' Around fabric packs cut and ready to go.  You see - I'm trying to make sure we work a month in advance to keep up with all you fun club members!  Plus, we've gotten so many gorgeous new fabrics in again - I just could not resist!

This weekend I will start stamping more spool blocks, cut them out and begin piecing them.

I am enjoying these quilt stamps so much and because we've had a few requests, we went ahead and order the stamps for the Basket Blocks also!  Those should be in later next week - so excited about these!  Cute aren't they!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far!  I'll be packing orders and sewing this weekend and toss a little cooking in there too - we have a bunch of food to prepare for the big "Super Bowl" event this Sunday!  Chicken and Steak Fajitas, Nachos and a bunch of other goodies are on the menu!  Good times with friends are always welcome!

Civil War Reunion Fabric Collection

Now, it's back to work for us!  We have two extra sets of hands on board today - helping us to pack up all the pre-orders for our book!  If you have already placed your order for our new book, we will have every order packed and shipped by February 1st!  We promise!

Also, if you are "in the area" all the quilt models from our new book, Simply Charming will be delivered to Robert's Sewing Center in Joliet/Crest Hill, Illinois, this coming Friday (January 28th, 2011) plus the books (we will be dropping them off Friday afternoon)!  So stop by there and see the models and pick up your copy of the book soon!  They are taking phone reservations for the books also! Jacks Chain & Rosalia Flower Garden Quilt Patterns

We are up to our ear's in fabric here with the UPS truck making daily deliveries.

So, I thought I'd take a little coffee break and show you a little treasure I purchased in an ebay auction.

I just love a good scrappy project, now granted - this one is a little on the bright side for me, but it's still neat.  It's scrappy!  The fabrics and various pieces that came with this unfinished quilt top are just a treasure to look at and enjoy.  When I saw this quilt up for auction on Ebay - I immediately thought of my Aunt who is making one of these quilts right now out of 1" squares of scrap fabrics!

And a few completed nine patches:

This quilt pattern is called Jack's Chain or Rosalia Flower Garden. It's block #430 in Barbara Brackman's encyclopedia of pieced quilt patterns or in BlockBase if you have that program for Electric Quilt (love those 2 programs!)

I also found this pattern in the book called "The Romance Of  Double Wedding Ring Quilts" by Robert Bishop (which by the way you can pick up a copy really cheap on amazon.com right now!)  In his book it's called Amish Nine Patch Wedding Ring.

Devon Shirtings Fabrics

These pretty little prints arrived late yesterday!  This is the Devon Shirtings collection by Nancy Gere for Windham Fabrics. We were able to get in 26 bolts out of the collection, the rest have been discontinued or are on backorder now.  Such a shame they discontinue such good shirting fabrics!

All the fabrics are available as yardage or fat quarters on our website plus fat quarter, half yard, fat eighth and fat sixteenth bundles! You can view those here:

Devon Shirting Collection

Last night I was able to go to our quilt guild meeting.  I really enjoy getting out every now and then for quilt fun!  We were able to view some lovely scrap quilts last night and wouldn't you know it - I forgot my camera!  Figures!

Primitive Muslins Arriving Today

So exciting around here today!  The Primitive Muslin's fabric designed by Primitive Gatherings for Moda is arriving today!  

(Oh please Mr. Man in Brown - aka the UPS man - hurry up and get here!)

These muslins are just so pretty!

A Little Bit of Handpiecing......

Today I was able to do a little hand piecing!  I actually had a few moments to sit and stitch.  These template stamps for our "Spoolin' Around Club" arrived today!

Above is a photo that shows the stamps, the ink pads and the cute little pattern that comes with the stamps!

I was able to stamp out 20 blocks while sitting and helping my children with their homework after school.  Cutting them out was a breeze.  With these stamps, you automatically have the cutting line and the sewing line all there in one step for you!  I hand cut some of mine with scissors and then also cut some using a small ruler and rotary cutter - easy!

Here's the back side of one of the blocks where you can see the stamp/sewing lines.  These stamps are awesome, I'm seriously considering ordering other shapes (if you are interested in other shapes - let me know and I'll order them!)!  We have a few sets left, and I just placed an order for more of the spool stamps because they were received a little better than I anticipated!

And here are the fabrics we have chosen for this months fabric packs for the Spoolin' Around Club! This is going to be one gorgeous scrappy style quilt when we are finished!

I had a lot of fun this afternoon also!  We placed a nice order with Andover to replenish our Jo Morton inventory (we have to be prepared for our Jo's Little Women Club!!!!  Yeah!).  We ordered complete collections (which we pray we get very soon!) of the following:

Ember Reds & Evergreens
Spice Chest
Indigo Berries
Ravenwood
Attic Shirtings
and
Cocoa Express

Plus we ordered several bolts from every other line that is currently showing on the Andover website. Now, whether we get it all or not is anyone's guess!  Andover is currently doing inventory, so I hope to hear something in the next week or so about what will be shipped to us and just what fabrics have already been retired.  Boo Hoo....

Plus - we have Hurrah to look forward to this month by Jo and in March we have Toasty (I cannot wait to get my quiltie little hands on this fabric!) and Luminarias.  Then in May we have Carolina coming and July we have Sweet Emilie coming!  It's going to be a very good year!  Thanks Jo!

Also, in other news - I have to apologize for the little "blip" in ordering on our website today!  Our shopping cart was being updated because the United States Postal Service decided to surprise us with new shipping software for the new year - that didn't work with our website software!  Lovely.... I know.  So, after a few emails and the kind help of a computer guru (trust me, this little blip went beyond my computer knowledge!)  our shopping cart is back in working order.

Gotta run.... I have the hand piecing "bug" this evening and I want to get back to it!  Have a great evening!

We have a few more things up our sleeves for 2011, but now it's time to rest a bit and reflect on the many wonderful things this life has brought to us.  A bit of hand piecing and quilting is calling our name and that is how we will be spending our New Year's Eve - with family, quilting and watching our favorite movies. Thank you to everyone that has pre-ordered our book.  We are scanning in photos and creating kits to offer you to go along with the projects in the book.  As soon as everything is ready, we will let you have a peek at the projects!

Also, we welcome your comments and suggestions at any time. This time in particular I am asking a favor of you.  We are re-ordering several of Jo Morton's fabric lines that were introduced this past year and hopefully we will begin to see that fabric arriving at the end of January.  If there is any particular Jo line you are interested in, please be so kind to drop us an email at sewunique7@aol.com  or simply leave a comment!!  We are looking into ordering pieces from her older lines also!
