Sew Scrappy Quilts

I'm sure you've probably seen this magazine popping up on a few blogs out there in blog land.  Let me tell you - go buy it!  I bought my copy this weekend and I'm just in love with it!  Look at a few of the beauties included:

Miss Kathie's quilt - I've started cutting out tumblers to make this one!

This one is on the to - do list for shirt.  Love the pink!  This one is by Darlene Zimmerman.

This one is by Julie Hendrickson - love it!

Good scrappy quilt too!  Again - love the pink.

Love this red and white one too.  I see a very scrappy version of this one in my future too!  The Grace's Dowry shirting fabrics that just came in yesterday are perfect for it - yep, better save myself a tiny chunk of each of those fabrics!

If you cannot find this magazine locally - here are a couple of places you can order it from - it is so worth it!

(not sure if they still have any in stock, they blogged about this magazine a few weeks back - but give them a call!!!  1-920-722-7233)

Have a quilty kind of day peeps!

(And here's a little teaser for ya - don't forget - we have a really awesome blog hop starting very soon - we are waiting on some final artwork and then it's all go!  Free recipes, free projects, lot's a quilting chit chat and 13 awesome bloggers - what more could we want!!!!)

Grace's Dowry Shirtings Have Arrived!

Grace's Dowry Shirtings
just arrived this afternoon!  Wow - just in time for Houston Quilt Festival Too!  There are 21 shirting pieces in this collection and they are just yummy!  We have our normal Fat Eighth, Fat Quarter and Half Yard Bundles available. You can view those here:

Take me to Grace's Dowry Fabrics!

We have already begun packing up to leave for the show, but since this fabric just arrived, we are cutting it up into bundles before we go.  If you order bundles or yardage of this fabric collection today or tomorrow (October 26 and 27) we will ship it before we leave for Houston.  After that - I'm really sorry, but we have to get it packed up!  Also on this same note, all of our "other" fabric yardage is already packed in the trailer for this journey to Houston, so at this time we cannot cut any other yardage and ship it with the Grace's Dowry fabric.  We can still get to other bundles or collections of fat quarters and fat eighths if you order those, but the yardage is packed up tightly in boxes - We're so sorry!

We will have our laptop with us while in Houston.  We will be updating the website every evening and removing items that have already sold out.  Also - as orders come in through the day while we are away from the office, we will also be pulling inventory from the show booth if it's still available to fill your order if you place one while we are in Houston.  We cannot ship any orders out until we return and those orders will begin to ship on November 10th in the order they were received.

If you have a moment, say a little prayer this evening for my friends and fellow quilters en route to Quilt Market.  Many people in the quilting industry are traveling to Houston right now for Quilt Market and Festival.  The weather is horrible outside, winds are howling madly and fiercely and the rain is coming and going.  From what I've read, there have been several tornadoes also.  Keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers for safe travels.

Happy Quilting and I'll miss ya'll while we are gone!  I really enjoy emailing with each of you, FaceBooking and chatting through the blog.  I might not answer your emails or messages as quickly while we are gone, but will get to it eventually!

And don't forget - if you are coming to Houston Quilt Festival, be sure and stop by and say Hi!  My dear husband will be with us at this show and he's a "newbie" to quilt shows so be gentle with him!!!! Booth #2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019!  (Wow - a quad booth - we must be nuts!)

Bon Voyage Fabric, this week's special and some new notions!

Bon Voyage fabric designed by Edyta Sitar for Moda Fabrics is arriving today.  I cannot wait to have these 5 different fabrics that we ordered back in May here and ready to play with!  I loved this print above and order the cream shown, a pale mustard yellow and an excellent muted shade of blue.  I'm sure you will enjoy them also!  They are available here for you to view:

Also this week, all Triangles On A Roll are on special for $5.00 per roll. This sale is for inventory on hand only and once they are gone, they will be removed from our website.

The remaining inventory can be viewed here:

Funny Little Giveaway!

We're doing a little giveaway here!  Up for grabs is a cute little charm pack from the Annandale line of fabric that is designed by Jo Morton.

Here's the catch - see that photo above - this cracked me up - I'm still laughing over it.  Tell me in a comment (not an email - so don't shy away from commenting!) Who's booth this funky little chicken was hanging in and at what quilt show?????  (For all you blog readers - I'm sure you've spotted this photo on at least 2 other blogs recently!)

I'm still laughing.....

See all you quilt show attendees - all of us vendors get a little goofy now and then - and this is only one of the things that goes on "behind the scenes".  This takes the cake for this past year's shows for me though!

(please remember - you have to answer both questions correctly - who's booth and what quilt show were we at - the first one to comment correctly, gets the charm pack!)

Sale Fabric
As we approach our leaving for Houston Quilt Festival, we will slowly be packing up inventory for the show over the next 2 weeks.  You will start to notice our inventory of fabric will be reduce as we start bundling and pulling things.  All clearance fabric will be traveling to the show with us (as will everything else!)  So - if there are any goodies in the Sale Fabric section that you want now - better go grab it while you can - they will not last!  We also added the following collection to the Sale Section on our website!

The Cocheco Mills Collection - yardage and bundles

The Cocheco Mills Collection - Fat Quarters

We leave for Houston to be a part of International Quilt Festival in just 2 short weeks!  I hope to see many of you there - be sure and stop by our booth - #2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 and say hello to us and also to welcome my husband (our helper during the show)!  He's a "newbie" to working a show booth so be gentle with him!!!!

Also - we have exciting things coming very soon!  We are going to be a part of a great Blog Hop - details to follow as we receive more info!  Great free patterns, recipes and general chit chat will be included between the 12 bloggers that are involved in this hop!

And on a final note, we have received information on upcoming fabric price increases - all across the board.  I have seen a few increases already.  I'm so saddened to hear of yet more increases due to shortages of griege goods overseas and over all increase in costs to produce our wonderful quilting fabrics.  While we are at Quilt Market in a few weeks, we'll be getting more information on the fabric price increases and will let you know what is to come.  As always, we will continue to do our best to bring you excellent fabric prices and quick shipping!

In other news.....
I'm sad to say, but Annandale has not arrived.  I'm so upset I was not a very nice person to be around yesterday (when the fabric was supposed to have arrived) I was so frustrated.  Here is how my day went - 5 am I was up and on the phone calling our local UPS substation requesting (more like begging) them to hold all my incoming boxes so that I could pick them up instead of waiting until 4:30 in the evening (when I would be gone setting up for the quilt show!) for our fabric delivery.
UPS gladly agreed to pick all the boxes (between 8 - 10) I was guessing I should have.  I arrive at 9 am on the dot, when the customer care center opens.  They only had 4 boxes - what?????? Where's Annandale?

I get on my cell phone on the way home and call to find out where that fabric is.
I was told they have no tracking number.  What???? How could that be?
At 2 pm in the afternoon I get a call with the tracking number.  Those Annandale boxes of fabric were not even shipped to us until this past Thursday - 2 days after I was promised they were being shipped out.  My delivery date is now Monday.  To say the least I was not happy - extremely frustrated is putting it mildly and in tears.
So, our lovely Annadale fabric is not sitting on a UPS truck somewhere in Ohio at the moment, I hope it's having a safe ride.  Monday when it arrives I will be sitting in Des Moines - setting up our booth at that show and my husband has accepted the job of receiving the shipment and putting it in our work room.  My hands are tied and there is nothing I can do.  I'm very sorry, but this is out of my hands and is making me feel like I was not meant to have this fabric!  Ugggg.
I return from the show on Columbus Day - October 11 - which is a postal holiday.  I will spend that day cutting and packing up all the Annandale orders. Tuesday - every order will ship.
**************************
I wish you each safe travels if you come and visit either of the shows we are at these next two weeks.  I'm excited and looking forward to them. As always, I will do my best to get pictures of all the pretty quilts on display.
